Dalia Ramanauskas was born in 1936 in Lithuania and came to the United States in 1949. She graduated from Southern Connecticut College in 1958. She has shown at the Albright Knox Museum, NY, the New Britain Museum of American Art, CT, the Institute of Contemporary Art of University of Pennsylvania, the Norfolk Museum of Art and is represented in permanent collections such as the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., the Minnesota Museum of Art, Chase Manhattan Bank, among others. A master draughtswoman, Ramanauskas' work records the objects of every day life through her meticulous drawings whose forthrightness are associated with Magical Realism.
